Preschool classes introduce your child to the basics of Ballet, Jazz, and Tumbling. Ballet provides the foundation for all dance styles. Jazz focuses on rhythm and coordination. Tumbling introduces acrobatic fundamentals and helps develop flexibility, and balance.

Tumbling introduces acrobatic fundamentals, including rolls, cartwheels and bridges — building blocks for dance, cheerleading, gymnastics and overall fitness. Flexibility, balance, strength, and body control equip your child to safely enjoy athletic endeavors.

Flip Hop is an exciting, popular combination of Hip Hop and Tumbling. These classes do not require previous dance experience. The children learn Hip Hop moves, rhythmic awareness, and tumbling/acro tricks.

Christine Stevens has been teaching dance to children of all ages for nearly twenty years. Christine studied from a young age in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, pointe, acrobatics, and hip hop. Christine received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with minors in Dance and Education from Bucknell University where she was the recipient of the prestigious Arts Merit Scholarship in Dance. She was a member of the Bucknell Dance Company and was selected to choreograph for both the Dance Showcase and mainstage Bucknell Dance Company. A graduate from Broadway Dance Center's Professional Semester, Christine studied in all styles of dance with a concentration in tap under the mentorship of Jared Grimes, Jazz with Sheila Barker, and ballet with Natalya Stavro. She also studied on scholarship at the American Dance Festival School. Christine received her graduate diploma from the Dance Masters of America Teacher Training School with certification in all four genres: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern, received teaching certification through Acrobatic Arts, and continues to attend teaching workshops, seminars, and training programs to continue growing as a dancer, educator, and choreographer. Christine has taught and choreographed for students at numerous dance studios, schools, workshops throughout the tri-state area in addition to sharing her talents by choreographing high school musicals. She is the recipient of numerous choreography awards in various styles of dance and has led her students to numerous prestigious wins at regional, national, and international events. Recently, she was invited to return to her alma mater, Bucknell University, to choreograph for their dance program.
Kaya Snow began dancing at age two, primarily training at The Dance Academy of North Jersey. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rowan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Theatre Arts, concentrating in Acting and Musical Theatre. Kaya was the recipient of the 2022 Joseph Robinette Excellence in Theatre and Dance Award. She can be seen as a featured dancer in Rowan University’s Be Unstoppable commercial. While on the Rowan University Dance Team she performed in their first UDA National competition. She also served as president of Rowan University’s Contemporary Dance Company, Dance Extensions, for two years and was a founding member of the RU campus Hoofer’s Club.
Jenny LeProtto started dancing at age four, studying all forms of dance including tap with Mike Minery (Tapaholics, Slide, American Tap Festival, JUMP Director) and performing works by Ray Leeper (So You Think You Can Dance Choreographer, NUVO Director). While she trained in all forms of dance, Jenny's current fortes are teaching tap, hip hop and jazz, as well as teaching all styles of dance for young children. Jenny is best known for her tap choreography. She was recently recognized by American Dance Awards for many of her tap, jazz and lyrical pieces. Jenny’s work has been described as “intricate, polished and exciting!” Jenny is a graduate of Seton Hall University with a major in Education.

Summer Acro provides an opportunity to continue developing skills including backbends, cartwheels, one-handed cartwheels, kick-overs, front and back walk-overs, back handsprings, Aerials, tucks, layouts, and front aerials.

Rachel Nyhuis began her dance training at The King Centre at the age of three, where she trained through age eighteen. She went on to join the Ramapo College Dance Team, continuing to develop her performance skills and athleticism at the collegiate level. Rachel began teaching Acro at sixteen years old and is now in her 14th year teaching. She has taught at various competitive dance studios as well as privately in students’ homes, helping dancers safely progress through advanced skills with a strong technical foundation. Rachel is a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor, bringing a deep understanding of strength development, body mechanics, and injury prevention into her training. She continues to train and work on advanced tricks, believing that growth never stops and that teachers should lead by example. Her teaching style emphasizes clean technique, strength, control, and confident execution. Rachel graduated from Ramapo College with a BA in Psychology.

Sondra Steiner started her dance career at the Budzynski Studios of Ballet. She trained with The Pennsylvania Ballet School (The Rock School) and performed with The Pennsylvania Ballet. Sondra was accepted by The Boston Ballet, Richmond Ballet, BalletMet, Joffrey Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet into their intensives. Sondra has studied and worked with Melissa Hayden, Gloria Govrin, Trinette Singleton, Christopher d’Amboise, Jacques d’Amboise, David Howard, Fernando Bujones, Roy Kaiser, and Barbara Sandonato. Her repertoire has included principal, soloist, and corps roles in the ballets Paquita, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, La Fille Mal Gardee, Dracula, The Nutcracker, La Sylphide, Giselle, and Petrushka. Sondra attended college at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a major in ballet and traveled abroad to perform with The Hungarian Ballet Academy and in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Sondra's daughter, Leah graduated from DANJ (her dance eduction :))!
