** Per Student means that the number of classes and corresponding tuition in the schedule above are applicable to each student, including students in the same family except as described in the next sentence. If a family has more than one student enrolled in a month and, when counted together, the total number of classes such family's students are enrolled in during that month is five or less, then the tuition charged for each class that month, other than the $550 (for the school year) charged for the first class, shall be $500.
*** Class - With respect to tuition, a class means any class up to one hour (i.e., a 30, 45 or 60 minute class is treated as one class). Classes that are longer than one hour will be treated as additional fractional classes in quarter class increments (for example, a 75 minute class will be treated as 1.25 classes; a 90 minute class will be treated as 1.5 classes; and so forth). The tuition will be prorated accordingly (for example, the monthly tuition for a dancer taking one 90 minute class, would be $55 x 1.5 or $82.50).
"Regular Dance Classes" means school year dance classes other than Master Classes, Intensives (e.g., Ballet Intensive Workshop) and Summer Sessions (e.g., Little Spinners, Summer Stars, Syncopate, Summer Ballet Series and Summer Technique Classes), each of which are not covered by the Monthly Tuition described on this page and will have separate tuition schedules.
Payments
- Installment Due Dates -- The following due dates apply to our Installment Payment Plan: (i) the 1st payment is due at registration time for the applicable school year; (ii) the 2nd payment is due November 15th of the applicable school year; (iii) the 3rd payment is due February 15th of the applicable school year.
- Payment Methods -- We accept cash, checks, credit cards (VISA, MasterCard and Discover) and E-Checks (electronic payments made from a checking or savings account). For most of our customers, we maintain their credit card account information in our systems and process the installment charges automatically - the dance class registration form includes a section where you can provide the required information and signature to enable automatic payments. Another convenient method for payment is using DANJ's online Portal -- where you can login prior to the due dates and pay online with either credit card or E-Check. You may also pay at the office with cash, check or credit card. In all cases, we do require a credit card and your pre-authorization for use in the event that we do not receive your monthly payment by the applicable due date.
- For any payments made by check: (i) post dated checks are not permitted; and (ii) a $25.00 return fee will be charged for any returned checks.
- Late Charge -- Accounts outstanding past the applicable due date described above (and not paid using the credit card process described below) will be assessed a $5.00 late charge.
Additional Information
- Tuition is non-refundable - unless there is a valid medical reason for withdrawal.
- Ten Calendar Months - Our regular school year calendar is based on a 10 calendar month school year (September thru June). Each class has a total of 35 sessions per year (classes are not based on 4 classes per month).
- Missed Classes / Make Ups - Any sessions missed due to illness or inclement weather can be made up by contacting the office and taking the make up class no later than four weeks from the time of absence. The office will issue a pass to the student. The student must hand the pass to the instructor as they enter the make-up session. There will be no credits or refunds for missed classes/sessions.
- Cancellation / Dropped Classes - If you decide to drop out of a class, you must notify the studio business manager by the 5th of the preceding month in which a student is dropping in order to avoid being charged for the month (for example, if someone is dropping a class as of November, they must notify the office on or before the 5th of October to avoid being charged for November).
- Competition Team Members - If you decide to drop from the Competition Team, please understand that you will be responsible for all costume and choreography fees incurred on your behalf (some of which may be applied to your account after you notify us regarding your withdrawal), as well as any other outstanding charges.
