Studio founder and Artistic Director Sandy Gardner ..... "I am excited to be celebrating my 16th year with The Dance Academy of North Jersey. Sixteen years ago it was just a thought and a dream and since then it has grown to become a reality and a big part of my life. My happiest times are in the classroom with your children creating and choreographing new routines. I have enjoyed watching young dancers grow into wonderful young adults. Some have continued onto Broadway, Film, Commercials, Cruise Lines and Dance Teams. Some have become Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers and many other occupations. I take pride in nurturing children not only in dance but also in life. They have become part of my life, part of my studio and part of my dance family. I hope I have touched their lives as much as they have touched mine."
At DANJ, your child is our main concern. It is our goal to teach beginner through advanced levels fairly and equally. Your child will learn in a fun and clean environment as they progress and develop their technical abilities. You will be able to see and enjoy your child's accomplishments -- culminating in our annual Showcase. Dance is not the only feature of our studio; our students also learn how to work together as a team, build self-confidence, poise, and discipline.
Throughout the course of a year, we offer master classes taught by guest professionals from across the country. They each bring different styles of dance and teaching. These classes are open to everyone, guests as well as DANJ students.
Our end of year “Showcase” is for all students who wish to participate. It is a way for students to show their friends and family what they have learned throughout the year. The showcase is also an opportunity to observe many of our students from beginners to advanced. Our teachers choose the music and costumes appropriate for each age group in addition to choreographing each routine performed in the showcase. Tickets can be purchased at a reasonable price, so family members and friends can enjoy the performance. Your child will be part of a professional experience and show pride in their accomplishments when he or she takes their final bow.
Our facility, located in New Jersey at 770 Route 15 South in Lake Hopatcong (click here for directions), offers ample parking and a waiting room for the convenience of the parents. Our newly renovated dance rooms are spacious and airy and boast an extremely clean atmosphere for your children.
