Tanya was one of the original students at the Dance Academy of North Jersey when it opened. She began her professional career at the age of 12, dancing with the Fort Worth Ballet at City Center and performed annually with the New Jersey Ballet. As a teen, Tanya became an assistant to Frank Hachett at Broadway Dance Center in New York and worked with choreographers such as AC Ciulla, Shelia Barker, & Mia Michaels. Tanya performed at the opening ceremonies of the World Cup with famous pop-group N*SYNC, and, at the age of 18, she landed a role in the hit Broadway musical Footloose. She was also a member of a contemporary dance company in San Francisco and was featured in various TV spots for MTV, Making the Band, Partnership for a Drug Free America and NJN.

Tanya graduated from the prestigious Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University where she earned a degree in Body Movement and Communications. Since then, she has worked for companies including MTV, SpikeTV, The Weather Channel and FOX Broadcasting Company, where she had the privilege of working on American Idol, Teen Choice Awards and So You Think You Can Dance. Tanya has also taught and judged at numerous regional and national dance competitions and now actively practices Vinyasa yoga.
