Alana Isiguen received her early dance training at the Official School of the North Carolina Dance Theatre. There she studied with renowned NYCB principals Patricia McBride and Jean Pierre Bonnefoux. She later attended Piedmont Dance Conservatory to study privately with Rebecca Massey (ABT), who also coached her in dance pedagogy. Ms. Isiguen furthered her studies by attending summer programs at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Chautauqua Ballet, Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet and the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. In 2008 she received her BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. There she was given many opportunities, such as performing works by Mark Morris, William Forsythe, and Jessica Lang, presenting her own choreography at the La Mama Experimental Theatre Club in Manhattan, and studying abroad on full scholarship at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in Austria. She has performed professionally with the North Carolina Dance Theatre, Piedmont Dance Theatre, and Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance, as well as in many venues in NYC including Dance Theatre Workshop, Symphony Space, and the Joyce SoHo. Ms. Isiguen’s passion for movement transferred into a love of teaching, and she has taught ballet, pointe, modern, jazz and improvisation at numerous studios since 2003. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
